Module 1: Essential Skills
In this module, you'll learn the four essential skills that trainers need in order to get participants involved in the training process: communication skills, presentation skills, being genuine, and being humble.
Module 2: Understanding the Learner
In this module, we focus on understanding the adult learner. You'll explore the principles of adult learning, the learning cycle, and the process that an adult goes through as they relate new learning to their experiences. You'll be introduced to several learning methods that can be applied to a training session.
Module 3: Developing a Training Session
This module focuses on creating an individual training session. You'll learn how to identify your target audience so that you can complete a needs analysis. We'll also cover how to set up a lesson plan, and how to research and write the program, as well as the value that comes from testing a program before rolling it out to an entire group of trainees.
Module 4: Adding Fun and Games
In this module, we discuss the different functions that games can serve. You'll explore how to get buy-in for reluctant participants and how to use humor effectively, even if you are not naturally funny. We'll then test some quick and easy games, and cover how to troubleshoot when a game does not work well.
Module 5: Delivering the Course
In this final module, we'll go through the essentials of delivering a course. You'll learn several things to keep in mind about the use of visual aids, as well as some presentation tips that can assist a new or seasoned trainer in delivering captivating and effective training.
